Drive To Kep Via Sihanoukville
Today we drive South East to the coastal areas of Cambodia beginning with a stop in Sihanoukville. This enigmatic and edgy port City is has changed a lot recently with a huge influx of Chinese-owned super-Hotels and Casinos under construction. We stop at the popular Ochheuteal beach to enjoy lunch. Here there are a variety of hawkers, street sellers, and street children all vying for your attention and money. At night, the beach area is illuminated with fire performers, fireworks, and the sound of very loud and mostly terrible music from the many beach-side bars and clubs, some of which are open all night. A short stay for lunch is a sufficient experience here, before we continue our journey to the much more charming French colonial-era beach resort of Kep. Arriving mid-afternoon, we check into the hotel and then free time to relax for the rest of the afternoon. You may wish take a stroll to the world famous crab market for dinner.
